FAQ

What makes Dr. Hedstrom and Aspen Falls different?

It is our system. We offer a system of chiropractic, physical therapy and massage to ensure a broad health foundation approach and emphasize the vital role of exercise and proper diet and nutrition. We focus on the complete healing processes that bring long term results! We don’t just treat a few symptoms — we search for the underlying cause of your pain and discomfort first so you can get lasting results. Our chiropractors incorporate their expertise, not just with everyone!

Is Chiropractic office care ongoing?

The hands-on nature of the chiropractic treatment is essentially what requires patients to visit the chiropractor a number of times. To be treated by the chiropractors here at Aspen Falls, a patient needs to be in the office. In contrast, a course of treatment from medical doctors often involves a pre-established plan that is conducted at home (i.e. taking a course of antibiotics once a day for a couple of weeks).

Dr. Hedstrom and his team of doctors and staff, often provide acute, chronic, and/or preventive care thus making a certain return visits sometimes necessary. Our doctors will inform you of what you can expect in terms of the extent of treatment recommended and how long you can expect it to last.

How many times do I need to come in?

It’s based on your specific problem, how quickly you heal, your age, etc. Multiple factors cause us to decide on a case by case basis, but we only treat until you are well and then we stop.

We strive to end treatment as early as we can. Diligence with your recommended in-our home exercise programs will help you heal quicker and then you can reduce the visits. Once you can perform functional movement and you are healthy, we make sure you are prepared to continue healing. We give you all the skills you need to keep a strong, healthy body.

Will it hurt?

Our chiropractors never push past the point of a patients’ comfort level. They takes varying pain levels into consideration and will never take you past what you feel you can handle. You, the patient, determine it.

We balance the need to treat and the comfort level. We constantly evaluate that balance point. We gently push for the breakthrough in the healing process, but never past your ability.

How should I dress?

Wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing so you can have a full exam and we can do stretches and movements to aid in your healing.

Why don’t I just go to a 'real' doctor?

First of all, a chiropractor is a REAL doctor. Chiropractors complete the same number of clinical hours and complete the same amount of classroom hours. There is a change in their pharmacology classes; instead of a focus on prescribing drugs, they learn more about anatomy and physiology.

They replace a ‘residency’ with a ‘preceptership’ where they do part of their schooling in a clinical setting. Traditional medical doctors have two treatment options, they prescribe medicine or they refer you out to a specialist or for a test. That’s it.

Do you accept my insurance?

We are a contracted provider for many insurance companies: specifically, those most common in the state of Utah. For a complete list of insurances companies we are contracted with, please visit our new patients section.

How long can I expect my appointment to last?

Initial consultations can range from thirty minutes to one hour. Established patient visits, depending on treatment required, will range from thirty minutes to an hour and a half.

What additional services does Aspen Falls offer?

Massage Therpay and Physical Therapy or those who need more help with performing their exercises and movements. We also have supllies like pillows, tens unit, nutrional supplements, and orthotics.

When should I see a chiropractor?

Visits where you learn preventative maintenance are highly recommended. Regular check-ups are advised, frequency depends on age, activity level, pain level, and flexibility. Regular adjustments can restore the body’s proper alignment that may 'get off' in regular daily activates. See the doctor for any injury, ache, or pain.

Is Chiropractic care helpful in pregnancy?

Yes. During Pre-natal care we can make sure the pelvis is aligned, so you are ready for delivery. We can teach certain effective stretches to make the delivery process easier and faster. The added hormones of pregnancy loosens your ligaments and causes your own bio mechanics to be 'off' so rehabbing the pelvis and pelvic floor helps with back pain and sciatica.

We recommend that you come in at the start of your second trimester. Post-natal care should begin around 6-8 weeks after birth. Babies can be treated after the birthing process.

Are there people with particular jobs that can be helped?

People who experience pain from sitting at desk jobs or standing all day long can find great relief. Or if your mobility is limited or you tend to have repetitive movements, you can receive great help. Don’t live with it. We can explain what we can do.

What are your hours?
